杜尚是20世纪最重要的反传统和反美学的艺术家,他的出现改变了西方现代艺术的进程。他以惊人的破坏力摧毁了传统的美学体系,无限扩大了艺术表现的空间。后来的很多现代艺术家都沿着杜尚的思路,把各种新的观念、形式和材料纳入到艺术表达的范畴之内。

Marcel Duchamp is the most important anti-traditional and anti- aesthetics artist in the 20th century. He has changed the process of modern Western art. His inspiration comes from his attack to artistic norm and traditional art. He has destroyed the system of traditional aesthetics and expanded the space which art shows boundlessly by his astonishing destructive power. Many modern artists afterwards all take Duchamp’s thought and take various new concept, forms and materials into the category of artistic expression .So various modern art school has appeared .Then we can say, Duchamp have created vast rooms of free expression for his successors.
