The Present Urban Conservation of Japanese Historic Cities:Case Study on Makabe-machi in the City of Sakuragawa in Ibaraki Prefecture

近年来,日本普遍意识到城市规划在保护城市历史环境上的重要性。然而,保护的对象是"大量的"、"熟悉的"、"普遍的"的历史城市。我们在试图保护这样的历史城市时,必须对该城市现存的各种历史资源及积累的历史经历进行评价。

Recently the importance of urban planning which conserves historic environment has been generally realized in Japan. But the targets of conservation are “many”, “familiar” and “common”historic cities. When we intend to conserve such historic cities, we should evaluate all kinds of remaining historic resources of the cities and the historic accumulation that the cities have experienced ever.
