Minority nationalities in Yunnan, affected by specific geographical conditions, historical and cultural tradition, have developed their rich culture with distinctive regional characteristics. As a social cultural phenomenon in various ethnic groups, marital customs possess different cultural connotations reflecting social and historical developing process of various minorities and their common pursuit of freedom, happiness and a good life. The paper briefly discuss marital customs of minorities in Yunnan and building a harmonious society.
