摘要
连贯是语篇分析中的重要概念。自Halliday和Hasan提出语篇衔接与连贯理论以来,不少学者对该理论提出了质疑。本文认为语篇的连贯必须依赖于人脑中已存在的各种知识和经验,即图式知识;从世界图式和语言图式两个方面探讨了图式知识对语篇连贯的影响;揭示了由于图式知识的差异,对于同一语篇不同的人可能获得的语篇连贯程度有所不同;最后提出英语学习者在学习过程中,应该尽量丰富自己的图式知识,发现中英文语言及其文化差异。
Coherence is an important concept in the discourse analysis. Scholars keep skeptical view on the theory of discourse cohesion and coherence since its proposal by Halliday and Hasan. In the article, it takes the view that the discourse coherence should depend on the existing knowledge and experience in one' s mind - that is schema. It discusses the impact of schema on the discourse coherence in terms of world scheme and language scheme, and reveals the fact that because of the difference in schema; different people may gain the different degrees of discourse coherence from the same discourse, and makes the conclusion that English learners should try to enrich their schema and find the language differences, and even cultural differences.
