Lu Xun and Wang Guowei, two cultural giants in the 20th century, spend their whole lives pursuing the completion of independent personality. However, due to their various temperaments, talents and consciousness, the two persons differed dramatically in their pursuits. Eventually, Lu Xun, who boasted historical intermediate consciousness, surpassed the peak of the times and completed the pursuit of independent personality, while Wang Guowei failed pitifully in the course due to his surrender to traditions. The retrospection on the psychological experiences of the two giants can definitely devote edification to the establishment of personality for contemporary people.
