The year of 1943 witnessed the entry of ZHAO Shuli and ZHANG Ailing into literary circle. This article focuses on the comparison between their writing strategies, the publishing of their works, and the attitudes they held to different reactions to their works, so as to draw an outline of their roads to success. The comparison reveals that their devotion to writing showed the vitality of ＂Popular Literature＂ and has promoted the integration of ＂Popular Literature＂ and the New Literature in the 1940s to a certain degree.
