A Re-categorization of Prototype Theory and Demonstrative Pronouns in Chinese

现代汉语指示代词功能的特殊性、高度的封闭性等特性使其在词类体系中具有独特的地位。学界以往对指示代词的分类有得有失。借鉴认知语言学中的原型范畴理论对指示代词进行重新分类,在此基础上挖掘不同类型指示代词的差异,对进一步认识指示代词的功能是一种新的尝试。

The features of the particular function and high encapsulation of demonstrative pronouns in modern Chinese bestow these pronouns a unique position in the words family. There are advantages and drawbacks in the previous categorization among scholars. This article endeavors to re-categorize demonstrative pronouns in Chinese with the assistance of Prototype Theory in cognitive linguistics. The objective of this article is to distinguish the variations of different types of demonstrative pronouns, which will be a new display of the functions of demonstrative pronouns.
