摘要
话带调制解调器（Modem），随着数据通信的迅速发展，其传输速率（bit／s）似乎达到了信道容量的极限。因此，作者认为有必要对它技术的发展作一较全面的综述，并探讨其今后的发展趋势。
Along with the rapid development of data communication, bit rate of voice band modem seems to have reached the limit of a voice channel, therefore, it is neccesary to sum up the overall technology by which modem is developed and to explore its developing trend.
