The Beauty of Win-and-Win——A study of the survival of the small farmers in the early Roman Republic

There existed a group of small farmers in the early Roman Republic. The reasons for their survival are as follows： First, the small farmers always struggled for their own rights. Secondly, the win-and-win strategy reached by the compromise between the ruling class and the small farmers provided the important assurance for their firm existence. Thirdly, the cooperation between small farmers and nobles made the national territory continuously expand, which provided an important guarantee for the firm existence of the small farmers.
