天启五年,诏毁"天下东林讲学书院"。涉其名目者以东林为首,兼及首善、关中、江右、徽州等书院,其主持者皆入东林党籍,学术旨向略与东林同,皆"问道东林,力主正学"。以东林书院为中心,彼此交往不断,一扫王学流弊之迷雾,而使"程朱之说复揭中天"。
