通过人物话语表现人物性格、表达作品主题是文学作品重要的艺术表现手法,文章拟用语用学中的合作原则理论,通过分析凯瑟琳.曼斯菲尔德的短篇小说《莳萝泡菜》中主人公对会话合作原则的违反,揭示人物的性格特点,深化对小说主题的理解。

Revealing the Character of a hero and the theme of a literary work through the hero＇ s conversation is one of the major artistic practices. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the hero＇ s character and better understand the themes of Katherine Mansfield＇ s short story A Dill Pickle through analyzing the hero＇ s violation of conversational cooperative principle in pragmaties.
