摘要
过去很多研究语言性别差异的学者认为,在会话中男女的风格不同,男性喜欢竞争而女性比较合作。本文采用语料库的实证方法对这一论断进行了检验,结果发现:在男女身份平等的情况下,男女会话的风格其实不存在显著性的差异。
Previous language and gender researchers have found that males are competitive and females are cooperative in conversations. This paper further tested this conclusion by means of empirical study of corpora. It is found that when the speakers are of equal status, there is no gender difference between males＇ and females＇ conversational styles.
