The application of a lossy compression algorithm,based on statistical law, to a B ultrasonic diagnostic expert system is introduced through some medical examples of B ultrasonic images. The realization of the algorithm is completely presented, based on the design and description of the characteristics,the statistical methods and the concrete compression methods of the B ultrasonic images.
