Late Qing Dynasty to Chinese Law System Transition

修律是清末新政的一项重要内容,新政是清末统治者为挽救苟延残喘的政权而采取的应时之策,带有明显的反动性;但同时不可否认,它在客观上具有一定的进步性,有利于中国资本主义的发展。修律也是如此。它是为挽救清王朝的封建统治服务的,具有它的反动性;同时,它对中国传统法律进行了重大变革,引进了一些近代法律思想和原则,推动了中国法制的巨大进步,促进了中国近代法制的转型。

The amendment of law is an important component of the New Deal of Qing dynasty, its aim is to extension the rule of the Qing Dynasty which has its reactionary; but at the same time, it is undeniable that it has a certain objective progress which is conducive to the development of Chinese capitalism. The amendment of law is the same, which made traditional Chinese law undergone major changes, bring in some modern legal ideology and principles, and promote the transition of China＇s legal system.
