The sixth generation directors are interested in growing narrative and make endeavor to create a movie space taking youth culture as the subject. The growth of the youth in the sixth generation movies presents a cruel state of carnival： on the one hand, the self-abandonment of individuals with the sense of nothingness and the super realistic hallucination caused by the urban space where they are in; on the other hand, the adolescent individuals suffer from the frustration of growth and grow up under the reflection of various ideological orders. The image of the youth for the six generation ultimately displays a fable of modernity in the commercial period-the split world and individuals in the experience of shock.
