通过对北京地区长城防御体系、戍边城堡布局方略及城堡形态特征的研究,揭示了各类"城堡村落"演化与军事、生态、社会经济的关系,探讨了长城沿线"城堡村落"更新与保护的方法和策略。

Based on the studies of the defense system of the Great Wall, the layout of fortress for ganisoning frontier, and the features of fortress form, this paper reveals the relation between the evolution of all kinds of ＂fortress village＂ and the military affairs, ecology and social economy. It explores the measures and tactics to renew and protect the ＂fortress village＂ along the line of the Great Wall.
