The present essay discussed some confusing concepts in Relevance Theory which invite misunderstandings and criticism. The author argues that relevance is not only attributable to relevant information but also to relevant expressive behavior. She also makes it clear in this essay the interrelationships among relevant information, relevant expressive behavior,contextual effects, and cognitive effects.
