社区自主作为一种旅游发展中的特殊方法,强调社区居民的利益优先权和决策参与权,对民族文化遗产保护具有重要作用。社区自主构建也完全体现了对民族文化遗产的旅游利用和保护。由于受条件局限,社区自主还需要政府在管理、规划、人力资源、资源保护等方面给予支持。
