Process of Development The town of Bremerhaven developed around the new harbour of the Hansa town Bremen which was established in 1827. Very quickly it became one of the biggest shipping centres of the country, with a strong shipbuilding and fishing trade. It was atso Bremerhaven where 5 millions of emigrants were setting out for a new life in the New World.
