This article introduces, analyzes, and decodes the structural connection of the poem “now i lay” by American anti-traditional poet e. e. cummings and the musical setting of this poem by American woman composer Barbara Kolb, in order to learn and understand how the composer was inspired from other types of arts to create her own unique composition.
