Expressive activities of COX-2 and VEGF and their association with cervical nodes metastases of poorly differentiatde squamous cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx

摘要 目的探讨COX-2和VEGF表达活性与鼻咽低分化鳞癌颈淋巴结转移的相关性。方法56例鼻咽低分化鳞癌组织标本,免疫组化法检测其COX-2和VEGF蛋白表达活性。本组患者中,伴有颈淋巴结转移(N+)者44例,不伴颈淋巴结转移(N-)者12例。结果颈淋巴结转移组鼻咽原发灶组织标本COX-2和VEGF的表达阳性率分别为84.1%和70.5%,不伴颈淋巴结转移组相应指标的阳性率分别为50.0%和33.3%,组间差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。原发灶组织COX-2和VEGF的活性表达相关性为r=0.372,P<0.005。结论COX-2和VEGF表达活性与鼻咽低分化鳞癌颈淋巴结转移具有相关性。 Objective To investigate the association between the expressive activities of COX-2 and VEGF and their association with cervical nodes metastases of poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx based on a clinical study. Methods Included in this study were 56 cases with poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx, with their tissue samples taken from the nasopharyngcal focus for detecting the expressive activities of COX-2 and VEGF by immunohistochemical procedures.in this group of patients,44 were accompanied with cervical lymph nodes metastasis and the other 12 were not. Results In the part of cases with cervical lymph nodes metastasis the positive rates of COX-2 and VEGF expression were 84.1% and 70.5% in the samples of nasopharyngcal focus respectively, while they were 50.0% and 33.3% respectively among the cases without cervical lymph nodes metastasis, with the differences between the two subgroups being statistically significant(P〈0.05) and with a correlation coefficient of r=0.372,P〈0.05,between the expressive activity of COX-2 and that of VEGF. Conclusion There is an association of the expressive activities of COX-2 and VEGF with the potentiality of cervical lymph nodes metastasis from the primary focus of poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in the nasopharynx.
