口译是特殊语境下的双语交际活动。口译的特殊语境有别于笔译中典型的在场和不在场语境特征,进而造成了口译活动的艰巨性,这也正是职业口译员需进行特殊培训的重要原因。

This article attempts to analyze the special context in interpreting situation, which is divided into Presencecontext and Absence-context, and to put forward several distinctive contextual features between interpretation and translation, which account for the difficulty in interpreting and the need of special training for professional interpreters.
