Topic sentences are one important feature of English paragraphs and play an important part in them. Successful topic sentences are crucial to improve English writing. However, many students axe at a loss in writing topic sentences. This paper points out that process - writing approach can be applied to improving the students＇ ability to write topic sentences in class. The process of writing topic sentences can be divided into analysis, discussion, writing the outline and revision of the previous outline in writing, with the teacher as an advisor.
