The legendary life and vivid writing of Sheng Cheng reveal the modernization of 20th century China and the history of the intercommunication between Chinese and French cultures. This paper traces Sheng Cheng＇s experience in his stay of last years in France to study his relationship with Valery and Romain Rolland and disclose the process of the publication of his My Mother in French.
