Medicine in Taiwan During Ming and Qing Dynasties

本文叙述明末郑成功驱逐荷兰人及清朝统治台湾之经过与其历史背景；考察郑成功之死因，明郑以迄清代台湾疫病流行史；清代鸦片烟毒及禁烟措施及清朝的恤政。亦论及荷兰医学撤离台湾前后，大陆中医师之移入及台湾中医师之形成等。

Medicine and hygiene up to and including the time of Zheng Chenggong is barely de scribed in any extant literature.For the Qing Dynasty,records exist but are few in number.This paper describes the events and historical background of Zheng Chenggong`s expulsion of the Dutch and the Qing Dynasty`s rule over Taiwan.It investigates the cause of Zheng Chenggong`s death,the history of epidemic diseases from the time of Zheng Chenggong to the Qing Dynasty,the Qing Dynasty opium plague and measures to counter it,and Qing Dynasty charity work.It also discusses medicine in Taiwan before the arrival and after the departure of Dutch medicine,the immigration of medical doctors from China's Mainland,and the training of Chinese mecical doctors in Taiwan.
