On the Translator's Subjectivity: A Philosophical Perspective

译者主体性是指翻译过程中译者在尊重翻译对象前提下所表现出来的主观能动性,从哲学角度对译者主体性进行探讨,这对译学研究具有一定建构意义。"理解的历史性"让我们看到了翻译活动的创造性特质,"期待视野"使译者对翻译策略有多元选择,凸现了译者在翻译过程中的主体性介入;但同时我们也应认识到,译者的主体性不是孤立的"占有性"独白,它应体现在与原作者及的语读者共存的平等对话中。

The paper is intended for a philosophical study on the translator＇s subjectivity by resorting to relevant modem theoretical views. The ＂historieality of understanding＂ of hermeneuties offers a reasonable explanation for the creativity trait of translation, and the ＂horizon-of- expectation＂ of readers determines the translator＇s option for translation strategies, both of which reflect philosophically the subjectivity of translator to the full in translation study; but the abuse of subjectivity by the translator will lead to mistranslation undoubtedly, the translator＇ s subjectivity, therefore, should be subject to a norm of inter-subjectivity in an equal dialogue with the other subjects involved in translation.
