The impact and enlightenment brought by globalization to urban development

分析了经济全球化对全球国家、城市与区域产生的影响,指出资金、商品、信息、人口的全球流动把全球经济紧密地联系在一起,促进了发展中国家的工业化与城市化进程,使城市各个方面产生深刻的变化,并演变为全球城市体系,城市已经成为国家参与全球竞争的核心力量;并结合中国的国情,指出中国的城市化应该走资源集约高效利用的城市化道路和低消耗、高效益的新型工业化道路,坚持区域统筹和城乡统筹,大力发展服务型城市和信息化城市。

This paper analyzes the impact on countries, cities and regions of the world brought by economic globalization. It points out that the global flow of capital, commodity, information and population all over the world have closely linked with the global economies and promoted the industrialization and urbanization in developing countries so as to bring significant changes to the cities in each field and construct a global city system. So, cities have become core power which countries use to participate in global competition. Combined with Chinese situation, this paper brings forward that Chinese urbanization should be oriented on the resource - saving and on the industrial road characterized with low energy and resource consumption and high efficiency. It also believes that in the urbanization process service - oriented and information - oriented cities should be encouraged to develop on the foundation of the integration of regions and urban and rural areas.
