The principles of molecular adsorbent recirculating system and its application in the treatment of liver failure

分子吸附再循环系统(MARS)是一种新型的改良的人工肝支持治疗技术,能同时有效清除血液中的白蛋白结合毒性物质和水溶性毒性物质,与传统的血液净化技术相比,它具有独特的优势。近来,MARS在急性肝功能衰竭和慢性肝功能衰竭基础上的急性加重的治疗方面取得的成果正逐渐受到关注。此文就这一技术的基本原理及其在肝功能衰竭治疗上的研究进展作一综述。

Molecular adsorbent recirculating system （ MARS ） is a new and modified extracorporeal liver support device which can remove albumin-bound toxins and water-soluble toxins effectively at the same time. It has more advantages than traditional techniques of blood purification. In the recent years, more and more clinical studies have demonstrated obvious improvement in the treatment of acute liver failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure with MARS. The purpose of this article is to review the principles of MARS and its clinical application in the treatment of liver failure.
