摘要
回指现象一直是现代语言学研究的中心课题之一。本文在已有的回指研究的基础上,用认知语言学的转喻理论集中探析英语语篇中的名词回指现象,为语篇连贯性的阐释提供新的视角,并指出该研究对外语教学的启示。研究结果表明,转喻对名词回指现象具有一定的解释力。
Anaphora has been one of the central research topics of modern linguistics.On the basis of a literature review of the studies on anaphora previous scholars,this paper attempts to apply the theory of cognitive metonymy exclusively to the analysis of NP anaphora in English texts in the hope of helping the reader to reconstruct textual coherence and shedding insightful light on Teaching of English as a Foreign Language.The result of this study reveals that metonymy helps the reader reconstruct textual coherence via NP anaphora.
