摘要
21世纪对英语人才的培养提出了更高的标准,大学英语教学的改革也是势在必行。作者认为英语学科本身属于人文学科,英语教学应采取人文性的教学定位。人文教育会使学生受益匪浅,对他们今后的人生发展也会起到重要的作用。此外,作者对人文性的教学内容和途径也进行了探讨。
21^st century is accompanied by a new height of the ＂craze for English language learning＂ and calls for more competent personnel in possession of professional knowledge of the English language. The author argues that English learning belongs to a branch of humanities, and English language teaching should resort to humanistic orientation. Humanistic education is of great importance and benefit to the English learners as far as their personal development is concerned. Moreover, the author also discusses the content of and the possible approaches to the humanistic teaching of English.
