无线局域网中一种切换式负载均衡算法 被引量:4

A Load Balancing Algorithm Based on Handoff in WLAN

摘要 在IEEE 802.11标准协议中,终端通常根据接收到的信号强度进行接入或切换,这将导致各个AP之间的负载出现差异,使网络的整体性能下降,造成无线网络资源浪费。为此,文中提出一种负载均衡控制方法,各个AP相互交换负载状态信息,当系统出现负载不均时,通过把超载AP服务范围内的终端切换到轻载AP上,以降低各个AP之间的负载差异。仿真结果表明,该方法能够平衡各个AP之间的负载,提高网络的系统吞吐量。 In IEEE 802.11 standard protocol, each AP' s load is different because the accesses or handoffs of Stations (STAS) are generally based on RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication). This leads to degenerating the overall performance of the network and wasting the wireless network resources. This paper proposes a load balancing method, in which each AP (Access Point) can exchange load state message with the other, and the overloaded APs force the handoff of some stations to associate with under-loaded APs in order to balance the load. The simulation results indicate that each AP' s load can be balanced and system throughput improved dramatically.
