每个人潜意识中都有偷窥他人的欲望,窥性是人性与生俱来的弱点。中西神话中有关偷窥的描写从多个角度透露了各自文化的内涵:西方的命运不可抗拒和中国的命运自主,西方的重理智与中国的重人情,西方的神具有无上的权力而中国的神却受到凡人的挑战,西方重视个性的张扬而中国重视群体意识。

There is an appetite for voyeur in everyone＇s subconsciousness, which is an inborn weakness of the humanity. The descriptions about voyeur in both Chinese and western myths reveals the difference between the two cultures in an all-round way. Fate is irresistible in western myths while it is controlled by man himself in Chinese ones. The westerners pay more attention to rationality, but Chinese concern more with people＇s feelings. The God of the western countries has the supreme rights and the highest authority in the whole world while in Chinese culture God always needs to face the challenges from ordinary people. Hence western culture attaches more importance to individuality while group consciousness is given priority in Chinese culture.
