Appreciation of Various Versions,Analysis of Different Meanings——A Contrastive Analysis of English Versions of Mao Zedong′s Ode to the Plum Blossom

毛泽东同志喜欢梅花,他的《咏梅》词为人们勾勒出一幅美丽动人的梅花傲雪图。翻译名家竟相将其译为英文。本文从诗歌的意象美、音响美和形象美等出发,对《咏梅》的四种英译文进行了比较与鉴赏,探析了诗歌翻译独特的艺术性。

Mao Zedong loves plum blossom very much, which shows in the vivid description of plum in his poem Ode to the Plum Blossom. Many translators try to put this poem into English. This paper makes a contrastive analysis from the perspectives of grace in imagery, audiovisual and figure of the four different versions to study the art and scientific nature in poem translation.
