The paper discusses the key points on dealing with and settling the problems and contradiction existed in the selection of urban road route from many aspects, such as completion of initial planning, respect of natural environment, adoption of public advice, discretion of removal project, consideration of various economic benefits, conservation of water resource and protection of cultural relics and historic site.
