摘要
选取Faulkner的小说A Rose to Emily以及赵本山的小品《功夫》为练习材料,进行为期6周的英汉、汉英两个阶段的翻译实践活动,考察学生的翻译动机等情感因素、自我解决问题能力、以及活动组织形式。结果表明,大部分学生非常喜欢这种活动,它弥补了课堂教学之不足,锻炼了工具书查阅能力以及翻译实践能力;同时学生们也认识到与职业翻译工作之间的差距。
For investigation of the feasibility, an empirical study is conducted, in which university students majoring in English are chosen as the subjects to cooperate in translating Faulkner's A Rose to Emily into Chinese and Zhao Benshan's (赵本山 )sketch Kungfu (《功夫》)into English. The students are required to present one retrospective report each week per person in 6 weeks as the data collection of the study. Description and discussion of the students ' reports reveal that such a large-scale translation exercise helps students to promote their effectiveness and develop their professional habits in translating practice under the cooperative organization of the experiment. Defect of the study is that the translation materials are limited in literary genre, for which it is necessary to further the study with texts in other styles.
