In the five-days' nitrox saturation habitating at a depth of 15 msw, four Chinese divers carried out 15 times of simulated air excursion in the experiment CHISAT-1, a Sino-American cooperation in 1988. The cumulative oxygen dose for the air excursions was 2442 UPTD. After that they were decompressed with air. The cumulative oxygen dose on the 6th day reached 3103 UPTD and the divers felt some of their fingertips numb. But the symptom gradually disappeared on the 7th day of the exposure. No significant changes were observed in their force of vital capacity during the experiment. The results suggested that the allowable cumulative oxygen doses for consecutive hyper-oxygen exposure recommended by Chen Bao-song et al. could be possibly closer to the reality than the others else.
