"以事写人"是元好问碑志文的重要特色。元好问碑志文结合人物主要行状事迹,选取典型事件,详略得当地品题人物。在处理与多个人物相关的事件时,采取篇与篇之间互文见异的方法取舍安排材料,不但成功地叙写了人物,而且使其碑志文史料的含量大大增加。

It is typical in Yuan Haowen＇ s epitaphs ＂to portray a character in narrating events＂. Keeping in mind the representative performance and deeds of the characters, Yuan chooses those typical events and portrays the characters either elaborately or concisely. When the events involve several characters, he resorts to intertextuality between different essays to show the difference, which not only helps him shape the characters successfully but also adds to his epitaphs significant historical values.
