The chain drive is a transmission device which is widely applied in mechanical equipment. Traditionally, in order to get satisfied design data of the chain drive, design compiler must cut and try again and again. In this paper, the question of optimization design of the chain drive was settled quickly by using MATLAB optimization toolbox.
