This paper briefly introduces the basic status of domestic heavy machinery industry and the standard on involute cylindrical gears, and emphatically discusses the necessity of the new accuracy standard in the designing of heavy mining machinery products in China. On the basis of these, proposals are put forward for the standard recension and the designing work of heavy mining machinery products in China.
