Abstract In 1997 a national wide meeting was held focusing on the development of statistics education in colleges. Based on the report of the Hongkong City university at the meeting,this article introduces the statistics education in HongKong,such as their major and courses arrangement, teaching contents and methods, practising in society and so on. Also the author points something good in the statistics education system in Hongkong the our colleges and universities in main land can learn from.
