Shallow reading is a kind of shallow, simple and easy reading form, concentrating on acquiring information. Its performances are diversified. The reasons of its emergence： the growth of information numbers is explosive; media transmission channels are abundant; people＇s reading habits change and so on. Deep reading needs peace and devotion, concentrating on acquiring knowledge. Deep reading and shallow reading are different in reading contents, purposes, actions and psychology. Deep reading is not the antithesis of shallow reading, but discreteness. The key lies in reading or not, and how to read. Deep reading is the mainstream. One should seek order and logic in shallow reading, and the relevant agencies need to strengthen guidance.
