摘要
我们大多数人听到“巧克力”这个词时,都会想起巧克力棒、巧克力糖果和巧克力兔子。想到与巧克力有关的动词可能是“吃”,而不是“饮”,最容易联想到的形容词似乎是“甜”。然而在其约90%的悠久历史中,严格地说,它是一种饮料,而且与糖没什么关系。
W hen most of us hear the word "chocolate",we picture a bar, a box of bonbons^1, or a bunny^2. The verb that comes to mind is probably "eat", not "drink", and the most apt^3 adjective would seem to be "sweet". But for about 90 percent of chocolate's long history, it was strictly a beverage, and sugar didn't have anything to do with it.
