Construction of a Harmonious Society and Balanced Development of Library Cause

和谐社会是一种民主法治、公平正义、诚信友爱、充满活力、安定有序、人与自然和谐相处的社会。构建和谐社会已成为中国特色社会主义建设的重要指导思想。本文作者认为,和谐社会是一种理想的社会状态,它需要和谐文化的支持。图书馆作为一项文化事业,其自身也应该走均衡发展之路,以均衡发展的图书馆事业为构建和谐社会做出贡献。本文还通过北京高校网络图书馆和甘肃定西师范专科学校图书馆的扶贫与共建活动。

A harmonious society is filled with democracy and laws, justice and righteousness, honesty and friendship, energy, peace and order, and human beings and nature getting along harmoniously. To construct a harmonious society has become an important guiding rule in building socialism with Chinese characteristics. The authors of this paper hold the view that a harmonious society, as an ideal society, needs support of a harmonious culture. Libraries, as a cause of culture, should also undergo balanced development, so as to make contributions to the construction of a harmonious society. The article also explores how to promote academic libraries in the western of China, based on the activities of poverty relief and co-development carried on between Beijing online academic library and Dingxi Normal College in Gansu province.
