After the analysis of the traditional Huizhan dwelling house with typology method, the article tries to find out the spiritual impetus of architecture from traditional culture. Typology method helps to find the inherent prototype of the ancient dwelling houses in Huizhou and it can also be used in contemporary regional architectural design so that our traditional cuhure can still be inherited and developed with the ever fast urbanization.
