中国近海原鳃类的初步研究——Ⅲ.马雷蛤科和廷达蛤科

PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE PROTOBRANCHIA (MOLLUSCA) FROM THE CHINA SEAS III. MALLETIIDAE AND TINDARIIDAE

马雷蛤科(Malletiidae)和廷达蛤科(Tindariidae)同是原鳃类中的两个小科。它们大多数种类生活在深水区,潮间带没有它们的分布。这两科动物种类过去在中国海无任何记录,本文报道的6种中,其中金星廷达蛤(tindaria jinxingae sp.nov)是一个新种,其余5种在中国海均为首次纪录。

The species of Malletiidae and Tindariidae from Chinese Waters have not been reported in the past. The present paper deals with 6 species collected by the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica from the deep waters of the East and South China Seas. One species, Tin-daria jinxingae sp. nov., of Tindariidae is new to science; 5 species of Malletiidae, Malletia humilior, M. conspicua, M. sumatrensis, Neilonella dubia, and N. aequatorialis, are recorded for the first time from Chinese waters.Tindaria jinxingae sp. nov. (Fig. 1)Shell small, thick, solid, rounded ovate, inequilateral, very inflata; umbo prominent, tumid, situated slightly anterior from the midpoint of the dorsal margin; anterior dorsal margin concave and shorter than the posterior; sharply rounded at anterior margin, broaded posterior margin; lunule heart shaped with heavier colour, escutcheon narrow elongate; surface covered with yellowish periostracum; sulpture, except umbo area, oramenated with very regular concentric ribs; interspaces between ribs generally as wide as their rib. Hinge plate very developed with about 11 teeth anterior and about 16 posterior to umbo; pallial sinus broad and shallow.Measurement: length 4.5mm, height 3.8mm, breadth 2.4 mm (type specimen).Holotype locality the East China Sea, June 10, 1978, 125@00'E, 26@20'N, 550 m, mud, one specimen.The present new species is allied to Neilonella weberi Prashad, 1932 = Tindaria weberi (Prashad), but the former species is distinguished by having concave anterior dorsal margin and longer posterior dorsal margin.Holotype (V 569 B-8) is deposited in the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica.
