An Analysis of the Contributions of Early History Narration to Traditional Novel's Narration

中国的叙事传统大致经历了从早册史传叙事长期独霸天下,到近代小说叙事日渐成熟并脱颖而出的过程。脱胎于史传叙事的小说叙事在其成熟独立之后仍深深地留下了史传叙事的烙印,《尚书》、《春秋》、《左传》、《史记》等史传叙事中,史实与虚构的交错融合、立体空间意识的滥觞渗透、叙事视角与层次的巧设变化,都表明中国早期史传叙事从多方面为后世的小说叙事打下了基础、提供了帮助。

Approximately speaking, China＇s narrative tradition experienced a gradual shift from the predominance of the early history biography to the emergence, maturation and development of the narration of modern novels. So in the narration of novels, a deep brand mark is left of the early history biography. In the historical biographical narrations like Book of Documents, The Spring and Autumn Annals, Zuo Zhuan and Records of the Historian, historical facts and fictional anecdotes are inter- locked, a three-dimensional spatial consciousness is evident and the angles of view and levels of narration are skillfully arranged. All these facts indicate that the early history biography of China has laid a foundation for the novel＇ s narration of the later generations and helped its development.
