Strategies of Identifying Novel Genes by Bioinformatics

摘要 随着人类基因组计划的开展,在基因结构、定位、表达和功能研究等方面都积累了大量的数据,如何充分利用大量已有的网上数据库资源,加速人类基因克隆研究及功能初步研究,同时避免重复工作,节省开支,已成为我们面临的一个急迫而富有挑战性的课题。生物信息学是20世纪80年代末开始,随着基因组测序数据迅猛增加而逐渐兴起的一门新兴学科,它利用计算机对生命科学研究中的生物信息进行存储、检索和分析。它的产生和发展为人们提供了强大的工具,本文就生物信息学方法在识别和鉴定新基因中的应用予以综述。 With the development of Human Genome Project, a lot of data in gene structure, position, expression and function research has being accumulated. We are confronted with an urgent and challenging topic: how to further take advantage of these resources and accelerate gene cloning without repeated work and lots of unnecessary expenses. By the end of 1980s, bioinformatics became a newly emerging science with the accelerated augmentation of genome sequencing. It is applied in bioinformation storage, retrieve and analysis through computer. Hence, Bioinformatics is a powerful tool in scientific researching. In this review, the application of bioinformatics in identifying novel genes has been reported.
