19世纪英国教育相对落后的原因探究

Reasons Why British Schooling in 1900s Falling Behind

在19世纪西方主要发达国家中,英国是最后一个建立全国性教育体系的。相比其早期工业革命所取得的成功以及殖民帝国的辉煌,英国的国民教育显得相对落后。这种落后,从根本上动摇了英国在整个西方发达国家中的霸主地位。究竟是什么原因导致了教育的这种相对落后状态?针对这个问题,笔者进行了初步探究并在本文中对导致英国教育的这种相对落后状态的原因进行了分析与阐述。

It is argued that, among those major developed countries in the West, Britain is the last to build its national schooling system. Compared with its glorious achievements in the earlier industrial revolution and the colonization empire, British national schooling seemed relatively falling behind. It is this case that shifted its leadership center in the West, hence falling behind the need of the times, What causes that situation？ This paper makes a tentative discussion.
