“鲤”“鳣”考辨

传统训诂大多认为"鲤"和"鳣"是同一种鱼。其实不然。"鲤"是今鲤鱼,"鳣"是今中华鲟。这种错误的根源在于误读《尔雅·释鱼》"鲤鳣鳢鲩鰋鲇"条。

Abstract： The traditional Chinese Exegetical Studies （esp. of ancient texts） mostly regarded “Li（鲤）” and “Zhan（鳣）” as the same fish. But actually they are different fishes. Li（鲤） is called carp and Zhan （鳣） is called Chinese Sturgeon now. The root of the error came from the mispronunciation in “Erh Ya： Explaining Fish”.
