With the development of the market and the increase of subscribers ＇ demand for large - grained broadband services, higher safety is required for the existing communications network. How to improve the survival of existing network and its flexibility become an important issue. So, effective protection and restoration of communication network by using effective technology appears to be particularly important. This paper introduces the features of OCP technique and its application in the CTT WDM backbone transmission network and analyzes its effects and limitations through actual applications.
